Liposuction – Non Invasive & Non Surgical Laser Lipo

Non-surgical alternatives for removing fat, tightening the body, losing inches & cellulite (Laser lipolysis & liposuction & weight loss)

People barely get time to exercise and keep themselves fit. And to add on to it, canned food exists in opulence! In a world which is ideal, Liposuction (Fat removal) would not be needed. Everyone would eat moderately, in the appropriate quantities and would exercise. But the world is far from ideal! And hence, with each passing year, Plastic Surgery for unwanted fat removal or Liposuction is becoming more and more common!

Everybody wants to look fit and healthy. Being overweight can be a factor of embarrassment and may be a social stigma. Obese (overweight) people when stigmatized, may even feel a bit low on confidence! Hence, to get rid of this embarrassment and in order to look presentable, such people seek Liposuction/ Fat Removal treatment.

What exactly is Liposuction?

The literary meaning of the term “Liposuction” is removal of fat from the body with help of suction. At the time of this procedure, thin, small, blunt-tipped tubes (cannula) are inserted through small incisions (cuts) in the skin. The doctor moves the tubes around under the skin, directed at specific fat deposits. The fat is thus suctioned out through these tubes.

As years are passing by, this fat removal or liposuction is becoming a trend! Also, since people nowadays want less and less invasive surgical procedures and more and more predictable outcomes, the popularity of liposuction for unwanted fat removal has fed the need for better technology which can make liposuction quicker, safer and painless. Patients and plastic surgeons alike have constantly sought solutions that can make liposuction a better and more satisfying procedure.

As Science is progressing and with the technology advancing further, researchers have invented newer and modern techniques for Liposuction which are completely non-invasive and practically painless.

Non-surgical Liposuction (Non Invasive Liposuction): A substitute to surgical liposuction wherein different technologies are used to liquify fat using non-invasive methods like lasers (laser lipo), ultrasonics and injections of chemical agents (lipolysis).

These modern techniques of Liposuction are as follows:

  • U-Lipo: This is a totally novel way and one of the best ways to shed those unwanted cms (shed inches, lose weight, tighten body)  from the body. Unlike conventional Liposuction techniques, U-Lipo uses a new Ultrasound Lipolysis and Tripolar Radio-frequency (RF based) system, thereby helping you to get rid of those extra inches from your body, and tighten the skin simultaneously without causing much discomfort and pain. The areas of the body which may be treated using U-Lipo are tummy, sides, thighs, hips, calf, upper back, arms, lower back, saddlebag, B-line, face & chin. Multiple weekly/fortnightly sessions are needed for achieving the desired results.

  • Low Frequency Ultra-sound Lipolysis technology: As a result of this technology, a pre-determined quantity of energy is targeted on the subcutaneous adipose tissue. After the ultrasound waves have met at the area targeted, they gather at a particular point and result in mechanical breakage of the cellular membrane and release inter cellular fluid from the stored triglycerides (fats) – this effect is known as ‘cavitation’. In this process, only the adipose(fat) tissue is targeted.

  • Advanced Tripolar Radiofrequency Technology: In this technology, maximum amount of RF energy is targeted to the dermal and subcutaneous layers. This results in penetration of multiple layers in the skin. The elastic fibers are targeted with this energy. As they get heated up, the collagen strands are pulled closer which leads to tightening of the skin. On further heating, the fat cell metabolism gets accelerated and in turn regeneration of collagen increases. Further rise in temperature results in fat cells (adipocytes) to secrete fatty acids, which are disposed off through blood and lymphatic system. This in turn leads to fat reduction and circumference reduction and removal of cellulite.

  • Laser Fat Reduction Procedure (Laser Lipo): The areas of the body that do not respond well to exercise and diet, are targeted with low doses of light laser therapy. The disarrangement of fat cell membranes results in release of intra-cellular fat. Due to which, the cells lose their earlier round shape. From the broken cell membranes, triglycerides are released into the interstitial place. They are then gradually transported through body’s natural metabolic functions and used by the body as a source of energy. Intense exercise after the treatment hastens the breakdown and fat removal from that particular area.

  • Lipolytic Injections: Lipolysis is a non-surgical injection therapy that assists in diminishing localized subcutaneous fat deposits and reduces subcutaneous adipocytes (fat cells). It does not assist in weight reduction, but rather is a treatment for body sculpting or contouring. The areas that are most likely to be injected are – neck area under the chin, inner thighs etc.

The active agent used for Lipolysis is Phosphatidylcholine (PPC), a lecithin product produced by soy beans. PPC is found to be present in the cell membranes, and is formed by the body itself. Because of PPC, fat cell walls are dissolved and fat is removed as a result of the metabolic process.

This Lipolysis therapy is indicated for the treatment of – Cheek, Double chin, Jowls, Armpit folds, Nasolabial fold, Back rolls, Upper arms, Hips, Buttocks, Upper and Lower Stomach, Above and Inner knee, Inner and Outer thighs, Pubic region, Male gynecomastia (development of breasts in males), Cellulite and treatment of Lipomas.

4-10 sessions of Lipolysis therapy (depending on the area and amount of fat deposit) spaced out at intervals of 3 or more weeks are required to get the desired results. About 80% or more patients are extremely pleased with the outcomes. Generally the results are visible in about 10 weeks.

Some of the best results are achieved by combining chemical lipolysis and U-Lipo treatments.

In summary, though Non-surgical Liposuction is NOT a means for reducing weight and is never an alternative to a balanced diet and exercise, these non-invasive liposuction procedures that are explained above are helpful in targeting only those areas which have stubborn fat deposits in them. People who are otherwise healthy or very close to healthy but have these stubborn fat deposits in certain areas, may benefit from Non-surgical Liposuction techniques. If a couple of kgs weight loss, inches loss, cellulite reduction is all you need, then surgical liposuction is passe, get some of these non surgical liposuction techniques performed instead and lose inches & weight predictably and safely.

In summary, oiling is NOT good for hair! In fact, it causes dandruff and seborrhoea which in turn causes loss of hair. Oiling your hair 30-45 minutes prior to washing your hair is a good practice. Keeping your hair oiled overnight is just NOT advisable!
